Empty Bowls Feed Millions

The 70-degree breezy temperatures Sunday in Austin, Texas, were perfect for standing in line -- a line that snaked half a mile around the Mexican American Cultural Center for the 12th Annual Empty Bowl Project to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank.

Team Hammock was part of the larger-than-expected crowd and contributed to the purchase of 2,200 hand-painted bowls from local artists and students, giving the Capital Area Food Bank their single largest donation day of the year with more than $30,000 raised.
